Maths and Economics Personal Statement Example 1

By skimming through a daily broadsheet or examining journals such as ‘The Economist’ it is clear to see that economic issues affect everyone both locally as well as on a global scale. However, I have been interested by Mathematics for many years and have found my enjoyment for it has increased as the depth of my understanding has grown. This has occurred both through my A level studies as well as by reading fascinating books such as ‘Why do buses come in threes?’ Furthermore I feel that this combination will allow me to delve into a multitude of challenging and diverse areas from the manipulation of complex numbers to analysing the effect of developing technologies on the 'tiger economies'.
