Nursing Personal Statement
After graduating from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, my first job was with Enterprise Rent-A-Car as a management trainee. Child nursing by guest at 21/11/2006 13:17:50

I have just written my statment for child nursing and have an interview for University next month. I found it hard but the best advice I can give is show your passion for nursing why they should pick i.e your skills, qualifications etc. Also if you have had any experience as I work in my local hospital part time as a volunteer and my full time job is at a nursery with children so the more experience the better as its shows your dedicated and willing to boost your application! Good Luck everyone xx

write about your current course and that you want to pass, and also your future plans are to work with children not only by using practical skills but theoretical skills as well.
write about nursing and then describe what type of nurse you want to be and why, and if you want you could say that i've always wanted to work with children. ALL THE BEST FOLKS....

Professional Statement by guest at 08/02/2007 14:33:51

Hello all-I am a professional Registered Nurse of 22-years. I have seen Nursing evolve into business managed profession. Longer hours, Heavier patient load, an increase in lawsuits, greater stressors, mean physicians, shorter breaks, poor pay now please don't get me wrong I am not sour on the Nursing profession but as a large group we tend not to unify for better pay and working conditions. We can do more and should do more, we have the power to do so but we continue to "allow ourselves" to be "run over". How to change the trend is a critical question I must ask.

I have noticed alot of Nursing and Midwifery examples but not other health care professions such as the Operating Department Practitioner Care course I am applying for. I will post my statment for future reference under Nursing as it encorparates the nursing practice. Remember the UCAS outline for a staement requires yuou to merge and structure the statment that advertises you in a poitive way. I hope this helps.

Hi, generally very good. I would remove 'kick start' and replace it with something like 'to enable me to embark upon'. Also the ending where you say 'honestly believe this is for me' could be better phrased by saying 'I have an extremely high level of motivation and commitment towards pursuing a career in Nursing'.

Cheers

Important advice by guest at 11/10/2012 16:37:39

When applying to nursing school, it is very important that you go beyond expressing the desire to help people. There are many professions in which you can help people, so why have you decided that nursing is the best way for you to do this? What is it about the daily work of nurses that calls to you? Think about this carefully as the answer to this question can make or break an essay. For more advice, visit www.thehonesteditor.com

The best advice I was given for my personal statement was to not just list my achievements and experience, you need to reflect on what you have done and explain why this experience or qualification would make you a good nurse. E.g I did such and such, through this experience I have demonstrated my ability to... etc. It's not enough to just tell them what you have done. I just sent my application through yesterday so crossing my fingers now :-)
