Fill in change of circumstances form
Date: 02/09/2003
What should have been any easy step got a little difficult
Now I was sure I was going to Essex I had to notify the DfES so that they could decide if there needed to be any changes to my student loan or the amount of tuition fees I had to pay.
I decided to phone my LEA to tell them, but first had to find their number. I found it on the DfES's website and phoned them up. On the phone I was told that I should have a change of circumstances form, which was part of a booklet I should have been sent by the LEA. After some searching and conferring with others (Thankyou Naomi!) I realised I did not have this booklet but was able to borrow one (Again thanks to Naomi) to notify the LEA.
Some parts of the form were actually quite hard to fill in. It was split into five parts, but I only needed to fill in three. The first part was just personal details and my student support number (which I found on some correspondence from the student loan company). Next I had to fill in the university I had changed from and too, this was easy but in this section I had to fill in the UCAS university code for each institution. This was difficult as each institution has two codes a numerical one and an alphabetical one, so I just put one and hoped. The next part was just filling in the course names and the new dates that term started. I had to look up these dates but found them in information from the Essex acceptance pack.
Once the form was complete I looked up my LEA's address on the DfES's website and sent it off to them.
After filling in the form I found it was possible to download the form, so I would have managed after all.
