Can I use foreign characters?
For 2011 entry, UCAS Apply will not be able to process characters such as foreign accents or formatting such as bold and underline.
The Apply system will remove these when you submit your application, but don’t worry – this does not put you at any disadvantage.
Universities and colleges know that accents and other characters do not appear properly on application forms.
In 2012 however, this will change slightly, and you will be able to put some European characters in to your personal statement that are not in the English alphabet.
